Krista, an enthusiastic outdoor adventurer and veterinarian from Toronto, Ontario, is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. With 25 years of veterinary experience, she is dedicated to educating both dog owners and veterinarians on best-practices for enjoying the outdoors with furry companions.
About Krista
A graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, Krista completed an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Colorado State University, followed by a Residency in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Florida and board-certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
She was an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the Ontario Veterinary College, a co-owner and Medical Director of the Surgery Department of a veterinary specialty hospital in Oakville, Ontario, and founded an online veterinary consulting service for veterinarians and dog owners. Additionally, Krista enjoys a longterm relationship with the National Wildlife Centre, contributing her surgical expertise to aid sick and injured Canadian wildlife.

Krista has published numerous articles in veterinary journals, written textbook chapters, delivered lectures internationally and has been a peer-reviewer for veterinary journals. Her areas of expertise include canine orthopaedics, rehabilitation, sports medicine, correction of limb deformities, and the human-animal bond.
When not creating content for Dogpacking.com, Krista enjoys an active lifestyle trail running, cycling, paddling, and traveling, accompanied by her mini goldendoodle, River.
